Issue #16 – Why your backup plan is secretly holding you back

[Issue #16]

This week, we cracked open
Burn the Boats by Matt Higgins.

The message is simple but powerful. If you want to succeed at the highest level, you need to eliminate your backup plans.

Higgins challenges the idea that having a safety net makes you more secure. In reality, it makes you less committed. When there is no way back, you tap into a level of focus and resilience that most people never reach. The world’s most successful entrepreneurs, athletes, and leaders all have one thing in common. They go all in.

One of the most striking insights from the book is that fear is not the enemy. It is fuel. When you have no choice but to move forward, you find solutions you never would have considered if a backup plan had been available.
