Issue #7 - The Science of Persuasion

This week, we dove into
Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion by Robert Cialdini.

The book reveals something fascinating: when we understand how persuasion works, we can both influence others in honest ways and spot when others are trying to convince us of something.

Cialdini breaks it down into six simple ideas that shape how people make decisions: when someone does something for us, we want to return the favor; we stick to our promises; we follow what others do; we trust experts; we like people who are similar to us; and we want things that are hard to get.

Once you understand these ideas, you can better connect with people and find solutions that make everyone happy.
